Gerald "Jerry" Kolkman

Gerald “Jerry” Kolkman, age 85, of New Haven, IN passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.  Born in Fort Wayne on August 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Albert and Stella (Perriguey) Kolkman. Jerry honorably served his country for three years in the United States Air Force. He worked as a bottler at the Falstaff Brewery for over 31 years until his retirement in 1992.  When not working, Jerry enjoyed playing pool, tinkering with mower engines, and cheering on Notre Dame.  Above all, he loved NASCAR racing.  Locally, he attended car races every Saturday at the racetrack in Angola.  Jerry will be deeply missed by friends and family alike.  He will be remembered especially for his warm hugs, given to all, whether family, friend, or someone he just met.  Left to cherish his memory are his son, Lonnie (Dana) Kolkman Sr.; grandson, Lonnie (Francis) Kolkman Jr.; step grandson, Tim Lothamer; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Julian (Brianna) Kolkman, and Grace Kolkman; and great-great-grandchildren, Landin and Nylah.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Judy Kolkman and Margie Kolkman; brothers, Eugene (Judy) and Ronnie (Sandy) Kolkman; and sister, Judy Ann Kolkman.  A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
