Obituary

Alice A. Bouillon, age 95, of Fort Wayne passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Georgetowne Place where she was a resident. Alice was a devoted homemaker and was an avid genealogist. She leaves behind an extensive legacy of family history and photographs, accumulated over four decades, including two contributions to The History of Fort Wayne and Allen County, Indiana, a two-volume publication from 2006.

She was active in her community as a member of several historical and genealogical organizations, including Settlers, Inc., which is associated with the historic Swinney Homestead and the annual Johnny Appleseed Festival. She was also a longtime member and past Regent of the Mary Penrose Wayne chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).

Alice A. Bouillon was born on July 21, 1930, in Coldwater, Michigan, the eldest child of Mark E. and Mary Catherine (Jepson) Culbert. One of her favorite things to do was roller skate all around her small hometown. She graduated from St. Charles High School in Coldwater on June 13, 1948, and graduated from the Private Secretarial Course at International College in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 8, 1950. Subsequently, she worked as an executive secretary at The Broadway Department Store in Los Angeles, California.

She married Captain Richard L. Bouillon, USAF, a widower with five young children, on April 7, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada. When her children grew up they realized how heroic she was to marry a military man with all those kids, and they loved her dearly and will always be thankful she said yes to all of them. Richard preceded her in death on January 13, 2005.

Survivors include one daughter, Anne P. (Jim) Vought, of Fort Wayne; two sons, Phillip (Debra) Bouillon, of Roanoke, and Lee (Melanie) Bouillon, of New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Erin, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, Noah, and Colin; and six great-grandchildren, Coen, Fern, Gwen, Lily, Faye and Bruce. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jeffrey Bouillon in 2018, a daughter, Andrea Eldred in 2021, three sisters, Mary Jo Culbert, Georgia Vermillion, and Phyllis Zismer, and one brother, Robert Culbert.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46805. A DAR service will be held during the time of visitation.
