Andrea Anne
Bartels
Oct 11, 1953 — Sep 16, 2026
Fort Wayne, Indiana
Andrea Anne Bartles, 72, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on September 16, 2026.
Andrea was born on October 11, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Neal Thomas and Dolores (Cochran) Betts. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
During her working career, Andrea was employed as a waitress at Hall's Restaurant, worked at the Fort Wayne Foundry, and later served as a Quality Control Inspector at Zollner Corporation. She retired in 2017 after ten years of dedicated service. Andrea was able to enjoy retirement just the way she had dreamed of, binge-watching all the television shows she would often say, “I never got to watch because I was working,” while enjoying her favorite buffalo dip and chips.
Those who knew Andrea often said that you either loved her or you didn't, but no one could deny that she was uniquely herself and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was first married to Jay Motter, with whom she shared her two children. Jay preceded her in death in 1994. In 1996, she married Scot Bartles, with whom she lived life to the fullest, embracing the philosophy that you only live once. Scot preceded her in death in 2024.
In addition to her husbands, Andrea was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Trinity Joy Coulter.
Andrea is survived by her daughter, Tabatha (Nathan) Coulter; her son, Mathew; her beloved niece, Sarah Jane "Little Girl" (Richard) Cooney; three granddaughters; two grandsons; two sisters; and one brother.
In keeping with Andrea's wishes, no public services will be held. A private interment will take place at Catholic Cemetery.
Andrea will be remembered for her strong personality, independent spirit, and the impact she made on the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
