She was the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Minnick) Brames. She was baptized at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, IN and was a graduate of Hoagland High School.

Jean married Gerald "Sonny" Bacon on May 13, 1950. They had four children Karen, Dan, Mark, and Jeff.

She is survived by her four children, Karen (Karen), Dan (Kathy), Mark (Jan), and Jeff; her grandchildren, Daniel Bacon, Alexis Bacon-Thrams, Grace Shollenberger, Katelyn Bacon; and one great granddaughter, Naomi Thrams.

Jean was a faithful member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church New Haven, IN. She worked as a farmer, keypunch operator at International Harvester, and school bus driver for East Allen County Schools for 32 years. Her passion was farming, which she continued until the end. As a teenager, Jean was most proud of the fact that she was the fastest tomato picker on her father's farm.

For fun Jean and her sister Babe refinished antiques, attended auctions, and made dried flower arrangements from wildflowers they picked. She loved country drives and being outdoors. Her sons hosted many dinners at her house, inviting friends and family. She was known for her deviled eggs and mowing the family's yards on her John Deere mower.
