Arthur E. Singleton, 107, of Fleming Island FL, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. Arthur was the youngest of three sons born into a German/Irish family that lived in Fort Wayne right across the street from St Patrick Catholic Church. Arthur worked at GE, was a pioneer in the early child safety car seat business at the Toidey Company, and was an owner of Prentice Products when he retired. He was a longtime member of the Holy Name Society, Fort Wayne Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus (fourth degree). He was known for his keen sense of humor, strong business acumen, athletic endeavors, his love of his Irish heritage and his friendly and charitable nature. He lived a great life and ascribed his longevity to having hundreds of friends, whose children and grandchildren still know about him in Fort Wayne and in Sarasota, Florida where he retired. He is survived by his children; Catherine Singleton (partner Paul Gresk), Patrick (Rosemarie) Singleton, (Amy) Singleton, Daniel Singleton, Molly (Thomas) McKenzie, grandchildren; Neal, Shannon, Angela, Kevin, Kelly, Kennedy, Russell and Tyler and 13 great-grandchildren. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Singleton and his son Timothy Singleton. Mass will be held 10:30am, Friday September 27, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd, Ft. Wayne, IN with calling 1 hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, 915 S. Clinton St. Ft. Wayne, IN. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne. Arrangements entrusted to Divine Mercy Funeral Home.
