Barbara J.
Resig
September 22, 1955 – March 9, 2026
Barbara Klein Resig, a woman of profound warmth, humility, and joy passed away peacefully surrounded by the family she so dearly loved. Born on September 22, 1955, Barb lived a life defined by her unwavering commitment to her husband and her children, her deep friendships, and her Catholic faith.
For 48 years, Barb was the cherished wife of Joe Resig. Together, they built a foundation of love that extended through generations. She was the devoted mother of John Resig, Leo (Tiffany) Resig, Emily (Brian) Mercedes, and Megan (John) Smolen.
To her eight grandchildren—Ryland, Paris, Mila, Fenton, Ellerie, Cecilia, Tegan, and Theodore—she was a source of endless joy and affection. Whether it was with her delightful smile or offering a quiet, listening ear, Barb made every member of her family feel uniquely seen and valued. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor—often at her own expense—and a bright, optimistic perspective on life that drew people to her.
Barb was the daughter of the late Dave and Mary Klein. She was the middle of 9 children that were an integral part of her passion for family – Dave, Gina, John, Maria, Terri, Kate, Fran, and Tom. She was a beloved aunt to 43 nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her fun spirit, and easy manner.
Barb possessed a rare eye for aesthetic beauty, which she poured into her home, her flowers, and her artwork. She took great joy in entertaining, creating a sanctuary where friends and family were always welcome.
Barb's life was a testament to the power of kindness. She effortlessly forged many deep and lifelong friendships that she cherished. A compassionate and sweet soul, she walked through the world with a quiet strength rooted in her faith.
Barb brightened every room she entered with a warm heart and a generous spirit, and leaves behind a legacy of beauty, laughter, and a family that will forever be guided by her light.
