Barbara Ellen Wormcastle, age 88, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Life Care Center. Born on April 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Jenny (Wyski) Carter. Faith was important to Barbara, as she was devout in her Catholic beliefs. She surrounded herself with images that remined her daily of God’s love.

Left to cherish her memory are her dear friends at Life Care Center and her faithful companion, Lilly the cat. Lilly was a very special and important part of Barbara’s life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, George Wormcastle; and her parents.

A committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne with visitation held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
