Benjamin T. Johnston, 85, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on July 7, 2024, at Kingtson of Dupont. He was born on February 26, 1939, in Fort Wayne, to the late Glenn and Louise (Nahrwald) Johnston. He was a beloved husband to Elaine Johnston and a devoted father to Matthew (Megan), Mark Johnston, and Karen (Tom) Hake. Ben was also a loving grandfather to Mason Terry Johnston, Alexandra and Sydney Hake, great-grandfather to Sullivan Hake. He was preceded in death by a brother Danny Johnston and a sister Donna Johnston. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from International Business College. Ben was a proud citizen of the USA, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories with his family. He was the owner and operator of MacDonald Machinery Company, Inc. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Associated Building Contractors, Building Contractors Association., the Allen County Republican Party. His love for aviation and having his private pilots license, he was also a member of the Fort Wayne Airport Authority Board. Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 15, 2024,10:30am, at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4916 Trier Rd Fort Wayne, 46815, with visitation one hour prior to the service, visitation also Sunday on July 14, 2024, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home 3500 Lake Ave Fort Wayne, IN. The rosary will be Recited at 7:30pm. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice, Catholic Charities or Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
