Benjamin Edward Rodgers, age 48, of Denver, CO passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  Born on December 4, 1976, he was the son of William Rodgers and the late Mary (Torres) Rodgers.  Raised in Fort Wayne, Ben attended Homestead High School and later college at IPFW.  He was the proud owner and operator of The Bean coffee shop on Wells Street.  Seeking a warmer climate and a peaceful lifestyle, Ben relocated to the Tampa, FL area for 6 years.  He enjoyed playing drums and riding his motorcycle.  Ben will be remembered as a truly caring person.  His caring nature extended beyond his family to anyone he thought needed a hand, and he would often stop to offer help when he encountered someone less fortunate.  He will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jayden Bernicky; father, William (Nancy) Rodgers; brothers, David A. Rodgers and Michael J. Rodgers and extended family.  Ben was preceded in death by his son, Dylan Rodgers; and his mother, Mary Rodgers.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, 46805 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the funeral home with a Rosary recited at 4:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Spero Recovery Center, Evergreen, CO (sperorecovery.org) in Ben's name or a charity of your choice.  Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
