Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryon K. Scott, who on June 5, 2025, went running home to Jesus at the age of 62. Bryon suffered a severe low blood sugar event on June 2 and, sadly, never regained consciousness. Bryon was  a loving husband, father, son, and brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He recently acquired the title of "grandpa" to Opal June, of which he was quite proud.

Bryon is survived by his wife of 35 years, Renee (Gremaux). They were lovingly referred to as Creator and Co-Creator by their three children: sons, Seth (wife, Vanessa) and Jacob (wife, Jessica), and daughter, Rachel Scott. He is also survived by his loving mother, Mona Whitehead, father, Hugh Scott, and sister, Kathy Haviza and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. Bryon was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Scott (wife, Vanessa) and father- and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Nancy Gremaux.

Bryon had an incredible work ethic. He had a long career in construction before deciding to become an EMT and trauma nurse. His dream was crushed when an injury prohibited him from completing his nursing degree. That did not keep him from his lifelong mission to help others, in spite of his constant pain. Bryon suffered from many chronic health conditions and in 2023, along with Renee, founded a chronic illness/caregiver support group at church, where his impact was immeasurable.

Bryon was a colorful man in both speech and attire. He was known for his neon shirts, unique expressions and hillbilly charm, always saying, "Howdy" and yelling over the boat motor to ask, "Did you catch any?" to friends at their home away from home, Story Lake Resort. Renee and Bryon enjoyed traveling together, time at the lake and creating their next "couples" Halloween costumes.

Bryon loved fishing, morning campfires, ghost shows, Cracker Barrel breakfasts, Handel's Monster malts and pretty much anything with "surgar." He loved spending time with beloved long-time friends and cherished family, playing games and watching Colts, Notre Dame and Arkansas Razorback football and IU basketball.

Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Bryon's life during a public visitation on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 4-8:00pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors and the St. Vincent DePaul Society (to go toward the Carpenter's Son projects.) Online condolences may be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.

In these difficult times, let us remember Bryon for his kindness, generosity, and the laughter he brought into our lives. He will be missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
