Carol D. Claymiller, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Monday November 25, 2024, at Heritage Point. She was born in Fort Wayne on September 7, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl and Martha (Eckrich) Schenkel. Carol Graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of '53 and on June 16, 1956, she married Melvin H. Claymiller; Mel survives along with sons, Charles "Chuck" Claymiller of Kendallville, Dennis Claymiller of Laotto and Edward (Gail) Claymiller of Harlan; grandchildren, Samantha "Sam" Claymiller of Fort Wayne and Brandi (Jeff) Walter of Woodburn, and 8 great-grandchildren. Carol is also survived by siblings, Joellyn Hamilton, Linda (Jim) Sweeney and Steve Schenkel, all of Fort Wayne, and Mark (Marta) Schenkel of Syracuse.

In addition to her parents, Carol was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Claymiller; grandsons, Michael Rice and Ben Perry; and a sister, Theresa Overmeyer.

Carol was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church; she enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts, and was a member of several area quilting clubs; she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ft Wayne Mineral & Gem Society.

Funeral Services 11:00am Thursday December 5, 2024 at Divine Mercy Lake Avenue Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation from 10-11am. Visitation also from 2-4 &6-8pm Wednesday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
