August 1, 1931 – January 8, 2026
Carol R. Gerardot, 94, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Born on August 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hahn) Junk. Carol was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1949. On May 5, 1951, she married Norman Gerardot. They spent 66 years together building their life and watching their family grow until Norman's passing in 2017. Carol worked as an aide for the Fort Wayne Community School system for 20 years until her retirement.
When not working, Carol enjoyed playing euchre, traveling, square dancing, and watching IU basketball. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Devout in her beliefs, Carol was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church where she served in the Rosary Society and the choir. She also served as a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital, Trinity Food Bank, and Lifecare as a Eucharistic Minister.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Judy) Gerardot, Ron (Sue) Gerardot, Maureen (Bill) McAfee, Laura (Tom) Hattery, René (Jeff) Moring, Carla (Iftekhar) Mohamedali, and Cheryl Marchant; daughter-in-law, Kim Gerardot; and 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gerardot; sons, Norman E. and Kevin Gerardot; daughter, Pamela Boschet; her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Ohneck and Margaret Anderson; and brother, Bill Junk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46808 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials can be written to Most Precious Blood in Carol's name. Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
