Carol A. Snyder, age 78, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Dupont Hospital.  Born on May 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Sr. and Mary Agnes (Mueller) Vaughn.  Raised in Fort Wayne, she was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Carol studied nursing and obtained her LPN through Lutheran Hospital where she worked for 31 years until her retirement in 1996.  She was also the owner of Walking on Air Footcare which served Northeast Indiana. When not working, Carol enjoyed reading, couponing (much to her family's amusement), and especially gardening.  She could also be found at Loon Lake spending time with family and friends.  Carol loved to travel but was also perfectly content just sunbathing on her porch or petting her favorite cat, Minnie. She loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.  Carol will be remembered for her loving and outgoing nature.  She never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone around her.  Faith was the most important thing to Carol, as she was devout in her beliefs.  She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kregg  (Sara) Snyder and Jason (Michelle) Snyder; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (David) Mykrantz, Deborah (Jerry) Reinhart, and Sharon (Gary) Munro; brothers, Kenneth Vaughn Jr., Douglas Vaughn, Richard (Michelle) Vaughn, and Donnie (Susie) Vaughn; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved cat, Minnie.   Carol was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Christopher deWeese; and sister-in-law, Sarah Vaughn.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Memorials can be written for Mass Intentions at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Carol's name.  Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
