Carolyn K. Firestine, 74, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday June 4, 2023. She was born in Van Wert OH on March 17, 1949, the daughter of Elvin and Arlene (Hubert) Height. Carolyn graduated from Van Wert High School with the Class of '68 and on March 17, 1983, she married Tom S. Firestine. Carolyn was a homemaker and member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was an artist and enjoyed painting; she also enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, watching Notre Dame football & Chicago Cubs baseball with Tom and caring for her dog "Floopy". Carolyn cherished the time spent with her family & friends, and especially enjoyed the fun times in her pool with her grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by Tom Firestine, her husband of 40 years; daughter Abby Firestine of Charleston SC; sons, Shawn Woods and Steve Woods, both of Fort Wayne; stepsons, Scott Firestine of Richmond VA and Brooke (Karen) Firestine of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tiffany Woods and Shawn Woods, both of Fort Wayne, Levi Firestine of Charleston SC and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Penny Thompson and brothers, Danny (Karla) McMillen, Jimmy McMillen and Lonnie McMillen, all of Van Wert OH. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason Woods and a brother, Jerry McMillen. Mass of Christian Resurrection 10:30am Friday June 9, 2023 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St. Visitation from 9:30-10:30 in the church. Interment in Catholic Cemetery.
