Catherine A. Arnold, 86, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday August 25, 2024 at St. Anne Home. Cathy was born in Fort Wayne on March 10, 1938, the oldest of the 4 children of (the late) Louis P. and Catherine W. (Baker) Schultheis. Cathy married Paul J. Arnold on May 24, 1958; he survives after 66 years of marriage, along with their children, Renee (Randy) Springer of Ossian, Sarah (Arthur) Dragoo of Monticello, and Anita Slattery, Christina Ward and Tim Arnold, all of Ft. Wayne; sister, Joan Klein of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Shannon Slattery, Brittany (Trent) Lehman, and Chelsea Slattery, all of Fort Wayne; Hannah Schindler of Chicago; Emma Ward, Evan Arnold, Amanda Arnold, and Isabella (Daniel) Branson, all of Fort Wayne; Madelyn Springer of Bloomington, Benjamin Dragoo of Monticello, Adam (Carsyn) Dragoo of Spring Lakes MI, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stephen Schultheis and John Schultheis.

Cathy was devout in her Catholic faith; as their family grew, they had been members at Sacred Heart, St. Henry and St. John the Baptist Catholic Churches, and Cathy always appreciated the Franciscan influence at Bishop Luers. She was dedicated to maintaining simplicity in life, preferring to focus on faith, family and good friends. Cathy enjoyed experiencing the beauty of nature, her flower gardens, taking walks or simply reading. She also had an avid love of music, often heard playing throughout their home. Cathy was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday August 31, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation from 10-11am. Visitation is also on Friday from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
