Catherine "Cathie" Lee Hannie, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Cathie was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Richard and Barbara (Smith) Besancon. She retired from Busak Shamban, where she met her late husband Harry Hannie, who passed away in 2019. Cathie enjoyed fostering rescue dogs, cooking, crocheting, golfing and being on Facebook, but most importantly she loved her family and spending time with them. She is survived by her daughter; Teisha (Cliff) Lapp, son; Scott Squires, stepchildren; Lisa (James) Moore, Marcia (Tom) Zent and Harry "Butch" (Heidi) Hannie, sister; Debra Galvan and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Cathie was preceded in death by her brothers Dick Besancon and Mike Besancon. Celebration of Life Service will be 11am Friday, June 13, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling 1 hour prior to the service. Calling also 3pm to 7pm Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made in Cathie's honor to Wags and Wiggles Rescue, Fort Wayne, or Humane Fort Wayne.
