Catherine (Cathy) Regina Tinney gained her angel wings on July 17th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after battling ovarian cancer.

Cathy was born on September 28th, 1973 to Patricia and Salvatore DiNovo in Fort Wayne, IN. Cathy graduated from Snider High School and then went on to work for Service Merchandise and then the Fort Wayne Wizards and Tincaps, where she worked for almost 25 years. In 1993 she met Ron and they wed in 1995. They then went on to have Samantha and Tyler, creating the family that brought her so much pride and joy.

Cathy's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here.

Cathy was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony DiNovo; father-in-law, David Tinney Sr.; and sister-in-law, Trisha Lamar. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Tinney; daughter, Samantha Alforeza (Severino Alforeza III); son, Tyler Tinney; mother and father, Patricia and Salvatore DiNovo; sister, Lori DiNovo; brother, Todd DiNovo; mother-in-law, Janie Tinney; and brother-in-law, David Tinney Jr. (Nicole Tinney). She also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were all so loved by her.

Cathy was a positive force. She was kind, loving, and she would be the first to volunteer whenever someone needed help and would always offer support, no matter how small, whenever she could. She loved planning trips and activities with her family, going out with friends, visiting Hawaii, watching her TV shows, spending quality time with the family, scrapbooking, and camping.

A Funeral Service celebrating Cathy's Life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 12 noon at Divine Mercy Funeral Home with calling from 11 a.m. until noon. Calling will also be on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
