Cecile E. Charais, age 67, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away unexpectantly on Sunday February 1, 2026, in her home. Ms. Charais graduated from Bishop Luers High and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Ball State University. She also studied at St. Francis College and was a member of their Alumni Association. Cecile was employed as a deaf interpreter at Lane Middle School until retirement and prior to that Snider High School . She enjoyed traveling the world and was a signing interpreter with the St. Francis Jesters.

Cecile E. Charais was born on October 15, 1958, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Donald and Leila (Thiel) Charais.

Survivors include her siblings; Phillip (Cindy) Charais, of Ft. Wayne, Dawn Warnement of Michigan, Anita McCutcheon, Irene (Michael) Harris, Barbara Charais, and Chris (Laura) Charais, all of Ft. Wayne, twenty-one nieces and nephews as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents, one sister, Teresa Charais, and a brother-in-law Michael Warnement.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Ft. Wayne, with recitation of the rosary at 3:30 P.M. in the funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with Reverend Glenn Kohrman officiating.  The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Francis Jesters, American Cancer Society or St. Therese Catholic Church.
