Charles H. Whitaker Jr., 75, of Fort Wayne proceeded to his next adventure on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Charles was born on December 1, 1948, in Fort Wayne, and was the son of the late Charles and Pauline Whitaker. He retired from BF Goodrich and later drove a semi-truck with Brothers Express. He was a loving father, stepfather, grandfather and great grandfather. He lived to have fun and laugh. He enjoyed connecting with people on ham radio, getting 'dogs' (coney dogs) on Thursdays with his friends, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with his family.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Cheri M. Whitaker; sons Bruce D. Whitaker, and Charles 'Chuck' H. (Judy) Whitaker III; grandsons, Josh Geise, Daniel Gebhart, Tyler Whitaker, and Daniel Whitaker; granddaughters Samantha Claymiller, Camielle Gebhart, Jessica Goodpaster, and Sarah Whitaker; many great grandchildren; sister, Donna (David) Yoder; and faithful dog, Bailey Joseph. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Rosemary Whitaker; 2nd wife, Sharon Whitaker; brother, Cecil L. Whitaker; and dogs Chico and Edward.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be Tuesday November 5, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home with a Rosary recited at 1:30pm. Entombment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
