Christine Marie (Nickelson) Doelling, 46, of Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 17, 2024.

She was born on September 20, 1977 in Fort Wayne to Cody Jones and Nancy Nickelson.

Chris was a 1996 graduate of South Side High School.

In May of 1999 she married Jacob Doelling and together raised two beautiful children, Zachary Doelling born in 2002 and Katelyn Doelling born in 2006.

Christine worked in Banking for almost 30 years, starting with Fort Wayne National Bank, which then became National City Bank, and finally became PNC Bank. You could bank on Chris outlasting the banks because she was so good with people, business, and tech.

Chris was the heart of her family and was beloved by all who knew her because she was so kind, caring, and selfless. She was one of those special, beautiful people that radiated hope, happiness, and empathy.

She also leaves her mother, Nancy Gater; stepbrothers, Michael Gater Jr., Cody Jones Jr., Dallas Jones, and Dillon Jones; and myriad aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her so much.

Also preceding her in death were her father, Cody Jones; grandparents, Fred and Jan Jones & Harvey and Bernice Nickelson; and stepfather, Michael Gater.

Funeral services celebrating Christine's life will be Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Friday, May 24, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
