Christopher Allen
Schilling
Nov 9, 1964 — Jul 7, 2026
Christopher Allen Schilling, age 61, of Fort Wayne passed away on July 7, 2026 at home. Born on November 9, 1964, Chris spent most of his life in Ft. Wayne, but lived in Denver, Colorado for approximately ten years until 2014. Chris was a 1983 graduate of North Side High School where he played basketball. Chris went on to work mainly in retail for a significant portion of his life though he also sold insurance for a time. Chris was very interested in sports and was a passionate fan of the Chicago Cubs, Indiana Hoosiers, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Avalanche. Chris had a heavy interest in music for nearly his entire life, maintaining an affinity for classic rock, 80’s heavy metal, and melodic heavy metal/rock. Chris also loved animals, particularly his cat Opie. Chris was a modest and humble person who expressed caring for his many friends and relatives, and who provided a great deal of comfort and care for his mother, particularly in her last year of life. Chris was pre-deceased by his parents Dick Schilling in 2004 and Donna Schilling in 2025. He is survived by brothers Rick Schilling of Broomfield, CO., and Steve Schilling of Sevierville, TN. Chris was also an uncle to Kayla Boucher (Schilling) of San Diego, CA., Alix Schilling of Ft. Wayne, and Casey Schilling-Gray of Ypsilanti, MI. A Celebration of Life function will be held in Fort Wayne on a date that has yet to be determined. It was Chris’s wish to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
