Cynthia Lee
Streicher
September 11, 1950 – July 13, 2025
Cynthia Lee Streicher, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025.
Born on September 11, 1950, in Van Wert, Ohio, Cynthia was the daughter of Rolland and Bonnie Pollock. She graduated from Van Wert High School and later from International Business College. At just 17, with quiet determination and an independent spirit, she moved to Fort Wayne on her own — without a car — and built a life for herself, walking wherever she needed to go.
After college, Cynthia began a 14-year career with General Electric. It was at a wedding where she met the love of her life, David Streicher. They were married for 45 years and together raised three sons, building a family rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter.
Cynthia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was most content with a book in her hand, her golden retriever nearby, and a view of the lake. She treasured family vacations to the Outer Banks, where days were filled with laughter, beach walks, and memory-making with those she loved most. A lifelong fan of hockey, she especially loved cheering on the Fort Wayne Komets — whether she was in the stands or following from home, she rarely missed a game.
A gifted scrapbooker, she poured her creativity into preserving family stories and milestones. She volunteered with various organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House, and was a proud member of two philanthropic sororities, always eager to help others.
She was the kind of person who offered help before you even knew you needed it. In her world, Neosporin could fix just about anything, and she always had your favorite snack or treat waiting for you. If a newspaper clipping or magazine article made her think of you, she'd tear it out, write a thoughtful note, and make sure it reached your hands.
Cynthia had a special touch when it came to entertaining. She delighted in hosting gatherings, always adding the perfect details to make each occasion feel magical and memorable.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Streicher; sons David Streicher II (Holly), Matthew Streicher (Cassie), and Robert Streicher; and her cherished grandchildren: Reese, Quinn, Sloan, Leopold, Lily, Abby, Remington, and Catherine Streicher. She is also survived by her sister, Loretta Wahmhoff (Greg), and her brother, Mike Pollock (Kimberly).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Christopher Pollock.
Visitation will be held from 5–8 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home (3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Humane Fort Wayne.
