Daniel J. Filler, age 85, of Huntertown, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, in his home after an extended illness. Dan was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School and was employed by Navistar retiring in 2001 with thirty-nine years of service. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and served with the Air National Guard in Fort Wayne for 4-5 years. He enjoyed fishing and time spent at the lake, vacationing with family, and playing the organ. He especially enjoyed his time spent with family and attending his grandkids games.

Daniel J. Filler was born on February 7, 1941, in Fort Wayne, the son of Andrew and Mary (Kelliher) Filler. He married Jeannine Wagner on October 28, 1967, in Delphos, Ohio, and she survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Barb (Chris) Campbell, of Fort Wayne, one son, Pat (Angie) Filler, of Rome City; four grandchildren, Bri (Steve) Brackenhoff and Aric (Nechole) Campbell, of Indianapolis, J.P. Filler, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Andy (Samantha) Filler, of Fort Wayne; his brother-in-law, Kenny (Mary Ann) Wagner, and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn German and Donna Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Virginia Filler, and a brother, Tom Filler; and brothers-in-law, Mel and his wife Pat, Wagner, Bob Wagner and Bob German.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 1986 Cedar Canyon, Road, Huntertown, with recitation of the rosary at 2:30 P.M. in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 in the church.

Private interment will take place in Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to St. Vincent Catholic Church or Parkview Cancer Institute.
