Daniel N. Trabel, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his residence in New Haven, IN. Dan was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Lawrence and Evelyn (Rorick) Trabel. He was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (New Haven) and retired from General Motors. Dan enjoyed farming, fishing, golfing and the outdoors, but most importantly loved his family. He is survived by his sons; Nick (Amy) Trabel and Phil (Mary) Trabel, siblings; Carol Merkel, Janice Bruce, Eugene (Barbara) Trabel, Joyce Trabel, Barbara Trabel, Ila (James) Beck, Roberta (Thomas) Doust, Diana Trabel, Richard (Tina) Trabel, Robert (Debra) Trabel, Gregory (Angie) Trabel and Mary Lynne Franke, grandchildren; Ava, Vivien, Morgan and Izzy, sister in-laws; Marlene Trabel, Mary A. Trabel, and Mary Jo Purvis brother in-law; Paul (Sue) Purvis and many nieces and nephews.  Dan was preceded in death by his wife; Margaret Trabel, brothers; Marvin Trabel and Paul Trabel, brother in-law; Virgil Merkel and sister in-law; Jane Purvis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers Street, New Haven, IN, with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, with the Rosary recited at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made in Dan's honor to IU Cancer Center.
