Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Allen Blackburn, who left us on May 14, 2026, at the age of 47. Born on August 10, 1978, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, David was a devoted father, a beloved son, and a hardworking man who spent over 20 years working as a welder at Pyrotek Inc. and most recently at Advance/Terex in cement truck manufacturing.

David had many interests including spending time with his family, watching sports, working on cars, riding motorcycles, and doing yard work. One of his proudest moments was being able to watch his boys become men and take on the responsibility of serving with the National Guard.

David is survived by his sons, Jacob and Kaleb Blackburn, his parents Patricia and Michael Blackburn, and his in-laws, Linda and Kimothy Thomas. He is also survived by his very good friend, Doug Brown. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David’s life will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. There will be a public visitation starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Afterward, we will process for a graveside service at Catholic Cemetery at 12:30 PM, where he will be laid to rest.

David brought smiles to many faces, showed kindness to all he encountered, and left a lasting impact on those around him. Let's come together to honor his memory and share stories of the wonderful person he was.
