David Charles Ferro,75, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 after a short battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Dave was born on March 4, 1948, to Michael and Grace Ferro in Elkhart, Indiana. After graduating Elkhart High School in 1966, he went on to study communications at Purdue University and graduated in 1970.

In 1968, Dave met Terri Manley at Shopper's Fair in West Lafayette, Indiana. Terri helped him with his purchase. They married in June of 1970 and went on to have three daughters, Stacy, Kelly and Courtney.

Dave spent the majority of his adult life working in copier sales. He retired from Allen Business Machines in Ft. Wayne in 2019. He served as their equipment sales manager for 28 years.

Known by most as Dave, depending on how you knew him, he could have been David, Dad, Papa or Padsee. Regardless of what you called him, Dave was a family man. He loved his family immensely and took great joy in watching his daughters and their children succeed in life.

University of Notre Dame football has lost a great fan as Dave was a life-long supporter of the Irish. Second only to ND was his love of fishing. Through his life, he also enjoyed cruising, Christmas, woodworking, lounging by the pool, gin and tonics, roasting nuts to share with others and later in life, Rock Steady Boxing. He would never be caught out and about without Chapstick, nail clippers and a hanky.

Dave was predeceased by his parents and three siblings. He leaves behind his wife, Terri, his children Stacy (Tim) Campbell, Kelly Williams and Courtney (Joe) Muncie. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Alec, Henry, Jack, Grace, Georgia, Lily and Sophia and his beloved cat, Callie. He also leaves behind two surviving siblings.

Services will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, February 9, 2024 with visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. followed by Mass at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Humane Ft. Wayne because of Dave's love of animals and to Heartland Hospice who lovingly cared for Dave in his final days.
