In Loving Memory of David W. Rudny

October 30, 1952–October 6, 2025

It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Rudny, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, on October 6, 2025 at the age of 72.

Dave was the beloved husband of Marjie Rudny, sharing 52 wonderful years of marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they created a family rooted in kindness and strength. He was a proud father to Anthony (Beth) Rudny, Crystal (Scott) Dunfee and an adoring grandpa to Charlotte Dunfee, who brought endless joy to his life.

A proud U.S. Marine, Dave served his country with honor and dedication. After his service, he continued to serve his community for over 40 years at Poe Volunteer Fire Department, always ready to lend a helping hand to others in need. He found fulfillment in his work as a machinist, where his precision, craftsmanship, and work ethic earned the respect of his peers.

Beyond his accomplishments, Dave will be remembered most for his warm heart, steady presence, and the way he made everyone feel like family. He found joy in the simple things — a cold beer, working on classic cars, and time spent with friends and family.

Dave is survived by his wife Marjie Rudny, his children Anthony (Beth) Rudny and Crystal (Scott) Dunfee, his granddaughter Charlotte Dunfee, sister Cathy (Rick) Beem, sister-in-law Sandy McGowen, and countless extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Juanita Rudny, half-brothers Jim, John, and Eugene McGowen.

Funeral mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, with calling 1 hour prior.  Visitation will be from 3-6:30pm on Monday October 13, 2025 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home with a Service from the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association beginning at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Church or The American Legion Post 330.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Semper Fi, Dave. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
