Devin Lamar Chaney, age 24, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Devin was an incredibly deep thinker, a dreamer, and questioned everything with a unique sense of curiosity and spirituality. He was an amazing big “Bubba” and “Father figure” to his baby sister, Miah-bug and loved his fiancé, Theresa, deeply. Devin was influenced and inspired by his big sister, Sasha’s love of music and shared this passion for music with his younger sister, Tasia, as well. Devin brought enormous energy to everyone around him and had a big heart and an even bigger smile and the most adorable dimples. He had boundless love for his friends and family. Devin had a passion for nature, hiking, and just being outdoors, as well as sports, music, and skateboarding.

Devin was born on December 11, 2001, in Fort Wayne, the son of Catherine Nelson and Tyrone Chaney. He was a 2020 graduate of Snyder High School but also attended Northside throughout his high school years.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Nelson and baby sister, Miah, of Huntertown; his father, Tyrone (Tammy) Chaney of Fort Wayne; his fiancée, Theresa Soe of Fort Wayne; sister: Sasha (Azaria) Chaney and nephews, JJ and Apollo of Fort Wayne; sister Tasia Chaney, of Fort Wayne; brother Michael (Audrey) Watson and nephew, Myles, of New Haven; step-siblings, Sarah Keel and Joshua Nix; his Nana, Jane Nelson of Richardson, Texas; Grandpa Raymond (Debra) Nelson, of New Haven; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Birden and Delors Chaney.

Visitation for Devin will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46805.

Services will follow at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Interment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery.
