It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald John Savarese, on October 19, 2024. Donald, born May 10, 1975, was a true original, as exemplified in the full life lived in his short time with us - being a chicken daddy to 32 chickens and 3 ducks, his legendary party days, the lovingly acquired nickname Cockroach for his many times surviving when being told otherwise, and the countless infamous stories accounted by his many friends and family.

Donald was a beloved beacon of hope for everyone in his life, who has left us with unimaginable loss and unending grief - but a legacy of memories, years of love, and the greatest example of fortitude, happiness in spite of overwhelming challenges, and the truest version of altruism.

Donald will be profoundly missed by his mother and step-father Linda Sorg and Donald Hart, sisters Mary Savarese and Suzanne (Dennis) Weber, as well as his brothers Francis (Karen), John (Karissa Cook), and Michael Savarese, along with his nieces and nephews Sophia, Louise, Jasmine, Lauren, Donald Baugh, Daniel Weber, and great-nephew Vincent Savarese. In addition, Donald also leaves behind his grandmother, Mildred Sorg.l Donald Sorg, deceased).

Funeral services for Donald John Savarese will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements were made at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

As a testament to Donald's generosity and compassion, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to some of Donald's favorite charities he was involved with - Ronald McDonald House, Wheeler Mission Shelter (Indianapolis), and St. Jude Medical.
