Donna M. Carteaux, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025.
She was born in Fort Wayne on October19, 1937 to the late Arthur and Catherine (White) Zeigler.
Donna was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School and the went to further her education at the University of Saint Francis.
On May 28, 1960 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, the late Robert "Bob" Carteaux Sr.
Donna was a woman of devout faith and a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was also a member of the 3rd order of Saint Francis; former Minister of Holy Family Fraternity and Provincial 3rd Order; Seton Society of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton; Christ Child Society; the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; Bishop Dwenger's Saints Alive; and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
In her free time, Donna enjoyed reading, sketching, music, writing, photography, and gardening. Donna also enjoyed traveling, having visited 134 countries. She made over 1000 rosaries for those in military service. During the holidays, Donna was well known for making thousands of Pizzelles for family and friends. Donna will be fondly remembered for her profound love of her family and friends.
She is survived by children, Robert Carteaux Jr. and Elizabeth (Philip) Waldorf; grandchildren, Eric Martin, Tom (Samantha) Martin, Megan Waldorf, and Philip Waldorf; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Martin; and a brother, Larry (Willa) Zeigler.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Deborah Martin.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the Seminarian Fund of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Relay for Life, 2nd life, 3rd Order of Saint Francis, Christ Child Society, Gregorian Masses, and or Saint Andrew the Apostle Ukrainian-Greek Catholic Church.
