Doris J. Allgood, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Born on October 16, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Estella (Henchen) Walter. She graduated from South Side High School in 1958 and later pursued a career in healthcare, earning her degree from the Lutheran Hospital School of Radiology. Doris dedicated many years to her work at Duemling Clinic, CFB, and ultimately retired from Summit Radiology.

On May 21, 1966, Doris married the love of her life, Dwyine Allgood. Together, they shared a beautiful life until his passing on December 4, 2023.

Doris was a devoted member of Grace St. John United Church of Christ, where she was actively involved in various church ministries. She was also a proud lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-watching birds, squirrels, and deer in her backyard and spending cherished time at the family lake house on Lake Gage. Doris had a gentle spirit and a warm heart, and she deeply loved her family, especially her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

A service to celebrate Doris's life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home , 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery .

Memorial contributions may be made in Doris's honor to the IU School of Medicine , Riley Children's Hospital , or Humane Fort Wayne .
