Dorla D. Rice, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Koehl) Henline on March 9, 1932.

Dorla was a 1950 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

On November 3, 1956 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Angola, She married the love of her life, the late Harold Rice.

Mrs. Rice was a loving homemaker but had also worked at Bishop Luers High School as an administrative assistant.

In her free time, Dorla enjoyed spending time with family at the lake and volunteering at Saint Charles School. She was a woman of strong faith and a devout member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Dorla will be forever remembered as a doting grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Kevin (Linda Steele) Rice of Fort Wayne, IN. Kent (Carrie) Rice of Fort Wayne, IN, Kirk (Jennifer) Rice of Fort Wayne, IN and Kristopher Rice of Woodburn, IN; daughter, Kimberly (Keith) Merriman of Rome City; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren with more on the way.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Rice; grandchildren, Bradley Merriman and Erica Merriman; a brother, Robert (Helen) Henline; and a daughter-in-law, Christy Rice.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Monday, June 23, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 3:45 p.m. Burial will follow Mass at catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Masses at Saint Charles to be Celebrated in memory of Dorla.
