Dorothy L. Freimuth, age 89, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice.  Born on May 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Viola (Vodde) Mahrt.  Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School. On May 26, 1956, she married Lyle Freimuth.  Together they spent 69 wonderful years building their life and watching their family grow. Dorothy worked as a salesperson at L.S. Ayres in Southtown Mall for 28 years until her retirement.

When not working, Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting.  Her love language was cooking meals for her family and extended family. Devout in her beliefs, Dorothy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church where she was active in providing funeral dinners and volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Lyle Freimuth; daughter, Michelle Bodigon; son, Kevin (Becky) Freimuth; grandchildren, Jeremy (Alissa) Bodigon, Christopher (Danielle) Bodigon, Madison (Derek) Foresman, Hannah Freimuth, Lindsay (Sankey) Everson, Rebecca (Connor) Sullivan, and Noah (Grace O'Hara) Freimuth; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Stuart (Erin) Freimuth; her parents; brother, Edward Mahrt; sisters, Marilyn Smith and Elaine Freiburger; and son-in-law, John Bodigon.
