Dorothy M. Hensinger, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Sage Bluff.

She was born on August 18, 1926 in Fort Wayne to the late Everett and Julia (Bobay) Litchfield.

On January 22, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina she married Daniel J. Hensinger.

Mrs. Hensinger retired as a cook for Elmhurst High School.

Dorothy enjoyed bingo, going to casinos, playing cards, coloring, painting, puzzles, reading, and loved watching Notre Dame and Colts Football.

She is survived by her children, Jeanne (Harold) Gunkel, Carol (Randy) Arnold, Daniel "Steve" (Phyllis) Hensinger, Margaret (Richard) Early, Tom (Sheryl) Hensinger, and Linda (Henry) Herron; 26 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and sons and daughter-in-laws, Cindy, Bill, and Mike.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Daniel; and children, Kathleen, Ronald, Janet, Kenny, and Mary.

A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior to the service. Calling will also be Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
