Edward A. McGovern, 99, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday April 28, 2026 at Woodland Terrace of New Palestine. Born July 29, 1926 in Brooklyn NY, the son of the late Edward P. McGovern Jr. and Eunice (Oelzy) McGovern. He served his country proudly in the US Army Air Corps in WWII and on September 2, 1950, married Jennie M. (Damek) McGovern, who preceded him in death on July 8, 2017.

Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey McGovern of Palatka FL, Robert McGovern of Lakewood CO, and Gary (Brenda) McGovern of Fairland IN.

He retired as a Quality Control Manager for Falstaff Brewery in 1989, after 24 years with the company.
