Obituary

Elaine H. Bowers, 86, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne on July 27, 1938, the daughter of (the late) Bernard and Helen (Schnelker) Bowers. Elaine graduated from Central Catholic High School and was later employed with Eckrich, Lincoln Life, and retired from North American Van Lines. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, playing cards with friends, attending Bridge Club, and watching some of her favorite shows including Antiques Roadshow, Johnny Carson, and South Park. Survivors include two sons, Steven (Rebecca) Glaser of Fort Wayne, and Michael (Terri) Glaser of Angola; granddaughter, Allison Daring of Gilbert, Arizona; great-granddaughter, MaKayla Bruce of Mishawaka; siblings, Gerald "Jerry" (MaryAnn) Bowers, Jane (Rick) Ervin, brother-in-law Phil Cler, brother-in-law Terry Skiles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Daring, and three sisters, Carol (Robert) Tenbarge, Delores Cler, and Margie Skiles. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 Saturday September 7, 2024, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 2155 Randallia Dr. with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation is also on Friday from 4-8pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 3:30pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
