Elaine H. Bueter, age 89, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages at Inverness. Born August 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Margaret (Foust) Bengs. Elaine was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and received her bachelor's degree in music education from the University of St. Francis. She worked as a dedicated teacher in the EACS district until starting a family of her own. She also taught private piano lessons to both children and adults in her home for many years.

On June 18, 1960, Elaine married the love of her life, Jay Bueter. They were together until his passing in 2009. Elaine enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She was the ultimate, gracious hostess at family parties, as she made sure that everyone always had food and drink in their hands. Above all, Elaine loved her family and loved being a grandmother, cherishing the time she spent with all her grandchildren. Devout in her beliefs, Elaine was an active life-long member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Joseph (Juanita) Bueter of Yellowstone National Park, WY, John Bueter, and James (Kierstin) Bueter, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Laura, Jay (Quinn), Cassidy, Kira (Justin) Blessing, Nathan, Nicholas, and Sarah; and great-grandchild, Ray. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Bueter; her parents; and sister, Arlene Bengs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr., Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a Rosary recited at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne following the service.
