Elaine A. Fritz, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday January 9, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Elaine was born in Fort Wayne on December 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Bernadine (Harkenrider) Gocke. She graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of '53 and continued on to earn degrees in accounting and computer science from Purdue University Fort Wayne. On June 11, 1955, Elaine married Alan R. Fritz, who preceded her on July 13, 2013, after 58 years of marriage. Survivors include their children; Mark A. (Suann) Fritz of Columbia City, Lisa E. (Jerry Hettinger) Rainey of New Haven, Paul D. (Mary) Fritz of Fort Wayne, Lori E. LeClear of North Ft. Myers FL, Kurt E. Fritz of Fort Wayne, and Joel G. (Pam) Fritz of Greenwood; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was also preceded by her brother, Vincent Gocke; her great-grandson, David Young, and her son-in-law, Dan Rainey.

Elaine retired in 2001 as the head computer programmer at Nucor. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Parish and served as the Secretary of the Central Catholic Alumni Association. She was an avid Notre Dame fan and was also a voracious reader, sometimes reading up to 300 books per year. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family & friends; she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday January 13, 2025, in Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Road, with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation is also on Sunday from 1-5pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 1:00pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
