Obituary

Elaine, beloved daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Chicago, Elaine built a life centered around family, love, resilience, and laughter. She worked hard throughout her life and later retired from OmniSource. More than any title or job, though, Elaine was most proud of being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her family was the center of her world. She treasured every conversation, visit, and memory made with her children and grandchildren, and she especially loved staying involved in their lives every step of the way. Her warmth, humor, and fierce love created countless memories that her family will carry forever.

Elaine found joy in life’s simple pleasures tending to her tomato plants and other plants she lovingly cared for, shopping (often enthusiastically), cooking meals for those she loved, watching NFL football,(Chiefs) and never missing her favorite soap operas. She also had a well-known admiration for Johnny Depp, which always brought laughter and smiles to family conversations. She also was an avid music lover (George Strait, Wayne Newton, Chris Stapleton and soft music). Additionally, she loved old movies.

She had a special love for animals and showed kindness and compassion to every pet and creature that crossed her path.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Tammy Garza & Tina (Rick) Walters her sons, Will (Jennifer) Luzar and Daniel Rucoi; grandchildren, Cassandra (Patrick) McCormack , Soraya, (Chris) Victor and Antonio Garza, Ben (Lauren) Luzar, and Sam Luzar. Cherished great-grandchildren, Flynn, Mae, and Rhodes.

She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, humor, wild spirit, and the way she could make people laugh even during difficult times. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and through all those fortunate enough to know her.

Elaine is proceeded in death by her parents, Willam and Emily Peters; sisters Joan and Sandy.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.
