Elayne M. Church, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 11, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Harold Mackey and Kathryn (Goebel) Haucke.

On November 14, 1964, at Saint Henry's Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, David Church.

Elayne worked for Lincoln Life, then as a Leasing Agent, and as a loving Homemaker.

She enjoyed going out for breakfast, playing card games on the computer, and loved her Starbucks. Elayne will always be fondly remembered for her love, especially for her husband, children and grandchildren. No matter what life threw her way, Elayne would never complain and embraced each challenge with a smile.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, David; children, Lisa (Jay) Gearhart and Mark (Sara) Church; grandchildren, Jordan (Samantha), Lindsay, Ryan, Aidan, and Ava; and a great-grandchild, Brooks.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Tom Mackey.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior, Calling will also be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to Elara Hospice or Masses to be Celebrated in Elayne's name.
