Emily A. (Snyder) Hines, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away quietly on Thursday, August 1, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Wayne on December 18, 1935, the daughter of (the late) Karl and Edna (Saurer) Snyder. Emily graduated from Northside High School with the Class of '54 and went on to work as a Paralegal for Lincoln National Life for the next 44 years.

On September 7, 1963, Emily married Arnold Hines, who survives after 60 years of marriage, along with four sons, Greg (Suzanne) Hines of Eustis, FL, Todd Hines of Fort Wayne, Chad (Heidi) Hines of Fort Wayne, and Nick (Christy) Hines of Knox; grandchildren, Helen, Hunter, Sonja, Landen, Carson, Annika and Elijah Hines, and a nephew Keith Walls. In addition to her parents, Emily was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean (Noble) Walls & Helen Snyder, and a nephew, Kevin Walls.

Emily was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; she was an avid fan of Indiana University and enjoyed crafting, especially during the Christmas season. She belonged to a card club and enjoyed gathering regularly with friends to play. She was a good wife, mother & grandmother who will be greatly missed.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday August 7, 2024, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave. with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation also from 4-8pm Tuesday at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
