Floral Anne
Sieradski
September 6, 1941 – January 9, 2025
Floral Anne Sieradski of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed into eternal life on January 9th, 2025 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. Floral was born to the late Eugene and Theresa Schnurr on September 6, 1941, in her beloved small town Mildmay, Ontario, Canada. Floral prioritized raising a family, staying active, learning, and teaching others. She earned her Teaching Certificate at Stratford Teachers' College in Ontario, Canada in 1961. She earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, California in 1992 and a Reading Recovery Certification from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1998. Floral taught her four children to read before they entered school. Later in life, she was dedicated to helping young at-risk students close the gap with their reading and many children in the Ft. Wayne area can credit her with reading success. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for her son's den, a member of the Board of Directors at St. Lucy's Priory High School, and a volunteer at Homestead High School. A devout Catholic, Floral led bible studies and first communion classes and was a reader and eucharistic minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fort Wayne. She was proud to become a United States citizen on December 9, 1994. Floral was a gifted musician, earning First Class Honors in school for music theory and piano. She taught Grade Eight Vocal Music at the London Separate School Board in London, Ontario and assisted with the Glendora Vocal Music Program while living in California. An extroverted and spunky firecracker, Floral loved music (especially Elvis Presley,) dancing, and parties! She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed knitting and crocheting, a baker who easily whipped up bread and sweet treats, and an avid reader and gardener. Floral was always first in line to try new things and she was always on the go! She was highly competitive and quick to challenge her opponents in Crokinole. She cherished meeting her friends for games, lunch, or shopping. She loved to walk, roller blade, ice skate, cross-country ski, play racquetball, use the backyard trampoline, travel to visit her relatives in Mildmay, and of course, dance! Floral Anne met her permanent dance partner of 52 years, Leonard Michael Sieradski, Jr, at a party in Detroit, Michigan. They were married October 5, 1968 and they are now dancing their way through heaven together. Floral is survived by her siblings; Don Schnurr, and Daryl Schnurr, her four children; Diana, Michael, Libby, and Angela, their spouses, and her cherished grandchildren. She is predeceased by her older sister, Celeste Fackoury, who passed recently and her grandson, Noah.
