Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gabriel James Fisher, who left us far too soon on June 30, 2026, at the age of 28. Gabriel was born on February 25, 1998, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to James S. and Kathleen M. (Voirol) Fisher.

Gabriel had a gift for bringing smiles to those around him. He was known for his quick sense of humor, kind heart, and playful spirit. Whether he was sharing laughs over a card game, spending a quiet afternoon fishing, enjoying treasured summer days with family at Higgins Lake, Michigan, or spending time with his beloved dog, Koko, Gabriel found joy in life's simple moments and made them memorable for those around him.

A 2016 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School, Gabriel was known for his hard work as a machinist in the auto parts manufacturing industry. Though he pursued college credit, his dedication to his craft was evident. He took pride in his work and the skills he developed along the way.

Of all the roles Gabriel held, perhaps none brought him more happiness than being an uncle. He delighted in spending time with his nieces and nephews, always ready to play, joke, and create lasting memories. They will forever remember his fun-loving nature and generous heart.

He leaves behind his devoted parents, James S. and Kathleen M. Fisher; his siblings, Brandon J. (Deborah) Fisher, Ryan J. (Sara) Fisher, Anna C. (Nicholas) Marrah, Benjamin P. Fisher, and Elise M. (Mikel) Hogan; six nieces and four nephews; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Gabriel at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13. Urn placement will follow at Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.

Although Gabriel's life was far shorter than anyone wished, the love he shared, the laughter he brought to family gatherings, and the memories he created will remain a lasting gift to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

the rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
