It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Henry Hildenbrand, who peacefully left this world in the comfort of home surrounded by family on September 3, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1941, in Evansville, IN. He lived in Lansing, MI and Fort Wayne, IN, before he and his wife finally settled down by building their dream home in Hoagland, IN that was a hub for gatherings of family and friends. George was the beloved founder of Hildenbrand Homes, where he passionately dedicated himself to building one of a kind custom homes.

George will be dearly missed by his loving wife Janice (Reidhaar) Hildenbrand of 62 years, and his two sons Daniel Hildenbrand and Joseph (Lee) Hildenbrand-MacSorley. He was a proud grandfather to Holli and Tyler Hildenbrand.

George is also survived by his sisters, Martha VerWayne, Marilyn Weigand, and Sarah Hildenbrand as well as many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Herman & Elizabeth; brothers, John, Robert, and Herman Joe; sister, Phyllis Nussmeyer.

His legacy of hard work, dedication, generosity, and love of life and family will live on in the hearts of family and friends forever.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made with Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Hoagland Fire & EMS or Poe Volunteer Fire Department.
