Gerald "Jerry" McClellan, age 76, of Kimmell, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.  Born in Fort Wayne, IN on January 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Francis McClellan and Virginia (Gerardot) Ackermann.  Raised in Fort Wayne, Jerry graduated from North Side High School.  After graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Army.  During his tour in the Army, Jerry served in Germany and worked as a driver in the Transportation Corps.  After his service in the Army was over, Jerry continued his career in transportation and drove truck until he was unable to continue due to health reasons.  When not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Jerry loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving family include his children, Patrick (Lisa) McClellan, Brian McClellan, Theresa Rice, and Melissa (Daniel) Martin; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve and Tim McClellan; sister, Marybeth; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rita McClellan; his parents; one brother; and son-in-law, Chad Rice.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
