Gregory (Greg) Alan Reader, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at his ocean-side home in Vero Beach, Florida, where he had resided since 2012. Greg was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and enjoyed a distinguished career as a licensed master electrician and business leader.

Greg was a graduate of the IBEW/NECA electrical apprenticeship program and a longtime member of the Local 305 IBEW in Allen County, Indiana. His curiosity and passion for business led him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Greg quickly transitioned into electrical estimating and contracting before branching into energy consultation, food processing, and project management. He retired as Executive Vice President of A. Hattersley & Sons, Inc. after 20 years of dedicated service.

In the Vero Beach, Florida community, Greg was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a committed contributor to the Sunrise Rotary of Vero Beach, where he was known as one of the "nuclei of the organization" by his fellow Rotarians. His unwavering dedication to both his business endeavors and the community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathryn (Katie) Reader; his son, Lucas Reader (partner Sara Roper) of Tucker, Georgia; and his sister, Colleen Firestine of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald (Dick) and Lavon Reader, and his brothers, Richard (Rick) Reader and Scott (Lisa) Reader both of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A memorial service celebrating Greg's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 11, 2025 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Entombment will be at Catholic Cemetery following the service.
