Ilse J. Heim, 88, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday April 2, 2025. She was born in Offenbach am Main, Hesse (Germany) on October 18, 1936, the daughter of (the late) Johannes and Elizabetha (Obernitz) Jung. Ilse was a teacher, having earned Bachelor's degrees from both Indiana University and Wright State University, and her Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

She married John I. Heim Jr. in St Paul Catholic Church in Offenbach am Main, Hesse (Germany), on July 6, 1957, and he survives, along with their granddaughter, Leslie Dawn (Ben Michael) Heim of Kendallville, and several nieces & nephews. Ilse was preceded in death by her son, John I. Heim III, and her brothers, Rudolf Jung and Hans Jung.

She was a member at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and the Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Rd, with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation also from 4-8pm Tuesday at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 3:30pm.
