Jacob Gordon Klotz, 27, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday August 8, 2026. Jake was born in Fort Wayne on October 10, 1998. He is survived by his parents, Erik (Tracey) Klotz of Garrett and Jennifer (Chris Johnson) Galloway of New Haven; step-brother, Cory Sowers of Fort Wayne; grandparents, Julie Carrier of Fort Wayne, Nancy Thissen of Fort Wayne, Michael Freels of Kettering OH, and several cousins, numerous aunts & uncles, and a wide circle of friends.

Jake was preceded in death by an infant son, Kysen Myles Klotz; step-brother, Derek Ray Sowers, and grandfather, Hank Thissen.

Jake attended Garrett High School where he participated in basketball, football, track, and cross country. He was a huge sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos, the University of Michigan Wolverines, the Boston Bruins, and the Fort Wayne Tin Caps.

He was a “jack of all trades”, working in construction and contracting, where he was especially talented in flooring, food service, and security. Jake was a big guy with a big presence, and most of all he was a loyal friend, to the end.

The family will receive friends and celebrate Jake’s life from 4-8pm on Friday August 14, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.
