James Patrick
Myers
January 8, 1960 – November 28, 2025
James Patrick Myers, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, November 28, 2025, after spending the day surrounded by the love of his family and the people he cared about most. His final moments reflected the way he lived his life, with those who meant everything to him.
Born in Fort Wayne to Raleigh and Georgie (Borkenstein) Myers, James grew up in the heart of the neighborhood with his brothers, sisters, and a wide circle of childhood friends from Precious Blood school. Those early friendships remained a constant presence throughout his life, shaping him into someone who valued loyalty, community, and staying connected to his roots.
On July 19, 2021, in Las Vegas, James married the love of his life, Stacie Ritchie. Together they built a life centered on family and filled with adventure whenever they could travel. They loved attending live concerts, spending evenings hosting friends and family, and filling their home with laughter, good music, and the kind of memories that last.
James retired after 36 years with OmniSource, where he served as a plant manager. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dependability, he was equally admired for the understanding and support he offered his team. He was the kind of boss people trusted, respected, and genuinely enjoyed working with.
Outside of work, James found joy in his favorite pastimes: listening to rock and roll, riding his Harley, and cheering for the Chicago Bears and Cubs. One of his proudest recent memories was attending a Bears game with his son, Matt, an experience he talked about often. Above all else, James cherished time with his family. He made every effort to be at his grandchildren's games and spent as much time as possible with the people he loved, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and generosity of spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stacie; his children, Matthew (Jamie) Myers, Amanda Sizemore, Hailee Kamradt, and Jeffrey (Crystal) Sommer; and his grandchildren, Landon, Kayden, Grayson, Ryleigh, Trenton, Zenna, Byrd, and Magic. He is also survived by his mother, Georgie Myers; and his siblings, Janet Niswonger (Jim Sr.), John (Julie), Jodie Jones (Bill), Joe (Laura), and Joyce (Scott), along with many nieces and nephews.
James was welcomed into eternal rest by his father, Raleigh, his sister, Jeannie, and sister-in-law, Mary.
