Obituary

James Alan Omo, 66, of Fort Wayne, died Friday April 17, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital. Jim was born in Fort Wayne on June 14, 1959, the son of (the late) Charles C. and Elaine (Geer) Omo. He graduated from Elmhurst High School with the Class of ’78. Jim married Rebecca E. “Becky” (Drew) Omo on June 27, 1981; she survives along with their children, Christopher (Staci) Omo of Grabill and Eric Drew of New Haven; grandchildren, Madyson Omo and Carson Omo, both of Grabill; sisters, Patricia (Richard) Helmsing and Mary Gallacher, both of Fort Wayne and Cheryl Dietrich of Decatur, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Omo of Fort Wayne. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, Clarence “Bud” Omo and an infant sister, Rhonda Kay Omo.

Jim enjoyed gardening, caring for his pet cats and dog, watching movies and also occasionally trying his luck at one of the casinos. His true joy was the time he spent with his family & friends; he loved family gatherings and reunions.

Funeral Services are 11:00am Thursday April 23, 2016 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, with visitation from 10-11am in the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
